Inquiries
BLM has been involved in high profile inquiries. When doing so, we aim to protect the interests of both the institution and the individual(s) involved recognising that both aspects are key to the success and integrity of the inquiry. Our involvement includes:
- The Zahid Mubarak Inquiry: we represented one of the doctors in this case of a death in custody of an Asian youth at Feltham Young Offenders Centre when confined with a known racist.
- The Morris Inquiry: instructed to act on behalf of the Metropolitan Police in this inquiry into discipline, professional standards and employment matters. In the debrief document, senior officers described BLM’s contribution as "outstanding".
- Bristol Royal Infirmary Inquiry: We represented five of the doctors who gave evidence to the inquiry.
