This is your opportunity to hear leading experts in the field of personal injury address the changes and developments that have impacted on personal injury claims over the last year and to anticipate and debate the changes ahead.

Claims reform has retained its place at the head of the industry agenda and remains at the top of ours.  BLM’s head of policy development and a leading insurer will examine the issues affecting the industry arising from the current reform agenda to include the MoJ claims process reform, and anticipate the impact of potential reform on the cost of claims following Lord Jackson’s consultation and review.

Central to the reform agenda is the issue of how to control costs.  Delegates will be brought up to date on the technical issues in relation to costs relevant to personal injury claims over the last 12 months.

Our programme continues with an examination of the current issues that impact on the evaluation and assessment of quantum in personal injury claims – to include an update on the effect of Rome II governing the forum for assessment of damages in cross border cases.

To complete the morning session we are joined by a guest spinal injuries expert who will share his expertise and insight into the assessment and management of patients and claimants across the spectrum of injuries affecting the spine.

Following a convivial lunch, our afternoon programme continues with a review of the important cases and developments in the arena of public and employers’ liability.

In our final session of the day, we focus on motor claims where we shall discuss the implications of recent case law on credit hire and examine the challenges facing the management and handling of fraudulent claims.

Speakers are drawn from our team of experienced BLM lawyers, specialists from the insurance industry and experts distinguished in their fields.
